Will and Laura

I first went to meet Will where he had stayed overnight at Rutland Retreats along with his groomsmen and close family. Will was adorably nervous and his groomsmen were comforting him with hugs and beers. In these early stages of the day I like to be out of the way to let the natural moments flow unless I am asked to take more posed photos, in Will's case, he wanted some photos with his brother and sister against the beautiful backdrop of the gardens at Rutland Retreats.

I love seeing all the cute little touches that couples bring in to their wedding and as a cat lover I was thrilled to see cats involved heavily including on the back of their vows!

I then drove a few miles down the road to Laura's parents house where Laura was getting ready with her bridesbabes. Laura's bridal party all wore mismatched outfits that somehow seemed to mirror her bouquet perfectly with the tones of the dresses corresponding with the tones of the wild flowers. I didn't ask if this was by design or a happy coincidence but it was beautiful.

Laura wore a stu-hunning boho style dress with a deep v neck with a short train and white lace flowers all over, it complimented her in every way. The flowers in her hair were the perfect splash of colour to finish off the look. One of the first things I noticed about Laura (other than me practically yelling at her that I HAVE THOSE PYJAMAS!) was her lovely smile and how relaxed and happy she was.

Pretty soon it was time to board the flower covered camper van that had arrived in the driveway and head to Half Moon Farm.

Will and Laura had a friend officiating the wedding as they had already had a legal ceremony a couple of weeks earlier, they also had readings from family and read their own vows. Family members had spent the last few days drying petals for their confetti and it was the best confetti toss moment I have ever captured! The abundance of petals made a spray of colour so beautiful I was grinning ear to ear looking through the photos on my lunch break.

After a lot of hugs and love from their nearest and dearest I took the newlyweds off to one of the surrounding wheat fields for some quiet couples shots. I love this part of the day because it gives all three of us a chance to catch our breath and bring the pace down. My couples are always relieved for a chance to just be alone together (with me snapping away of course) for a little while. It was here that I took one of my favourite photos to date, the two of them standing in the pathway surrounded by chest high wheat doing the "dip and kiss" pose with the glorious blue sky as their backdrop.

The rest of the day went by so smoothly, the laid back attitude of the whole day meant their guests could all just enjoy their day, sometimes together, sometimes in naturally formed groups. Will and Laura achieved this by having an array of lawn games and ball games set out in the big field, along with a mini golf course, complete with a competition for all the guests (there were literally silver trophies given at the end of the night).

The guests sat down at the long barn style tables decorated with colourful flowers, named after cats, to enjoy a mezze platter to start and then I snuck off to enjoy my delicious mushroom burger from the burger stand! I returned just in time for Laura's Dad to kick off the speeches.

The band The Smarties came on stage as the evening drew in and when I tell you they played banger after banger I really mean it! Starting off strong with Mr Brightside they just kept pounding out covers of the most dance provoking songs.

Will and Laura shared a lovely first dance and then a quick dress change into a chic silver mini with puffed sleeves for Laura before cutting the cake. The cake had the cutest topper... a cat! of course.

I left Laura and Will dancing the night away with the friends and family and got back in my car on such a high that it didn't even phase me to evict a spider that took up residence across my window. I put Twilight back on and drove home content as a half moon hung in the sky above Half Moon Farm.
